Overview

The C5515 is a member of TI's TMS320C5000™ fixed-point Digital Signal Processor (DSP) product family and is designed for low-power applications. It is based on the TMS320C55x™ DSP generation CPU processor core.

The TMS320C5515 DSP evaluation module (EVM) is a low cost, feature rich development platform designed to speed the evaluation process of Texas Instruments’ 4 latest lowest power C55x DSPs: TMS320C5515, TMS320C5514, TMS320C5505A and TMS320C5504A. Both experienced and novice designers can get started immediately with innovative product designs by utilizing the EVM’s full-featured Code Composer Studio™ integrated development environment (IDE) and eXpressDSP™ software which includes the DSP/BIOS™ kernel. Software Tools Checklist

These are the required tools to test boot from flash or EEPROM:

  1. hex55.exe to convert .out COFF file to binary.
  2. programmer_C5515_EVM.out to download to flash and EEPROM.
  3. CCS to run programmer_C5515_EVM.out.
  4. 5515evm.gel to set the PLL frequency for the I2C EEPROM.
  5. cleaner.bin file to erase previous boot images from peripherals.

The TMDX5515EZDSP is a small form factor, low cost USB-powered DSP development tool which includes all the hardware and software needed to evaluate the industry's lowest power 16-bit DSP: TMS320C5514 and TMS320C5515 as well as TMS320C5504 and TMS320C5505 as a sub-set.
