Introduction
Major data sheet update October 2009! Make sure have Rev F or later. Download the latest version for the OMAP3530/OMAP3525 here.
A few items of clarification are being left on this wiki page, but otherwise all major items have been addressed in the current data sheet.
AF13 - connected to 2 balls?
AF13 (bottom) connects directly to AA11 (top). The name/functionality of the pin depends on the pop memory and you would connect it on your board accordingly.
NOTE : This has been corrected in the datasheet SPRS507 Revised October 2009.
VDDS_MMC1
Connect to voltage (1.8V or 3V) depending on your application. Pull to ground with 10Kohm if not using MMC1.
N23
VDDS_MMC1a (VDDS_SIM)
Connect to same voltage as VDDS_MMC1 (1.8V or 3.0V) if you are using 8-bit MMC/SD or using MMC_DAT[4:7] as GPIOs (1.8V or 3.0V). Pull to ground with 10Kohm if not using MMC_DAT[4:7] at all.
P23
List of cap to ground balls
Connect this ball with 0.1uF cap to ground
AE19
Connect these balls with 1uF cap to ground
K14
K20
N9
Feed-through Example 1
The ball labeled POP_DPD-F-GPMC_NBE0_CLE is found on pin AF12 (bottom) and on pin AA10 (top). This signal (GPMC_NBE0_CLE) is typically needed for proper NAND functionality. If your POP memory has NAND flash, you would need to connect GPMC_NBE0_CLE (pin K2 on bottom) to pin AF12 (bottom) on the board. This will get GPMC_NBE0_CLE up to pin AA10 (top) for the POP memory.
Feed-through Example 2
Any balls labeled POP_DDR_VDD-X are power balls for DDR memory in the POP. You must connect DDR power to the appropriate BGA ball to get power to the DDR memory in the POP.
For example, you would supply power to AF5 (bottom) in order to supply power to AA6 (top) as would normally be required by the PoP DDR.
OMAP35x CBC package symbol
Updated symbols and footprints can be found on the OMAP3530 product page. For some reason they currently show up under "More Literature" rather than the usual "Symbols/footprints" area.
