How to Determine Silicon Version of device?
To determine the silicon version of a particular device refer to the name printed on the chip. The figure below shows a TMS320F2808 device as an example
| TMS320F2808GGMA | chip identification |
|---|---|
| CA-26ACRCW | lot trace code |
The silicon version is given by the second character of the lot trace code. For example:
| SECOND LETTER IN PREFIX OF LOT TRACE CODE | SILICON REVISION | REVISION ID(0X0883) | F2801, F2802,F2806 and F2808 COMMENTS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blank(no second letter in prefix) | Indicates Revision 0 | 0x0000 | This silicon revision is available as TMX only. |
| A | Indicates Revision A | 0x0001 | This silicon revision is available as TMX only. |
| B | Indicates Revision B | 0x0002 | This silicon revision is available as TMS. |
| C | Indicates Revision C | 0x0002 | This silicon revision is available as TMS. |
For more information on specific device you can refer to respective data sheets. For example for a F280X DSP you can refer to this document (SPRZ171).
