On my current design, we are sending the JTAG signals from the emulator, across a sizable backplane, through a connector to a module board. Since the JTAG signals travel a long distance in a very noisy environment, we are using the buffered configuration. However, this configuration provides no extra support for the EMU pins. The app notes mention adding strong pull-ups to the signals, but I am curious what the best practice is for handling these signals such that they can travel a long distances (> 24 inches) in a noisy environment. The issue we were seeing was that noise on the EMU pins was causing our DSP to go into the "Wait In Reset" boot mode.
