From Texas Instruments Embedded Processors Wiki
All content and changes made to this Wiki shall be made under the following licensing.
New Content as of August 26, 2009
As of August 26, 2009 all new contributions (or topics) will be under the Creative Commons 3.0 SA License (Creative Commons). The Creative Commons license can be found at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/us/. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License.
This wiki is switching its licensing from the GNU FDL 1.2 (FDL) to Creative Commons as part of an industry trend to make wiki content licensing and use easier for users. While the FDL license is a perfectly acceptable license, the Creative Commons license has fewer requirements for users in the context of a wiki. Wikipedia, for example, recently switched its site licensing from FDL to Creative Commons.
Existing Content Contributed Before August 26, 2009 – Please Provide Contributor Consent for License Change
Existing content, before August 26, 2009, is still under the FDL license. The FDL license can be found at the following link: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/fdl-1.2.html
Licensing for existing content cannot be switched without the contributor/copyright holder's consent. If you have contributed content under the FDL license, please enter "I agree to have my contributions moved to CC SA 3.0" in the Article Comments section of this topic, to let them know that you are willing to consent to switching the licensing for your contribution from FDL to Creative Commons. Your consent is needed to allow the site content licensing to migrate fully to Creative Commons licensing, which will make it even easier for you and others to use the content on this site in the future.
Changes Made to New and Existing Content
In order to migrate the licensing for the site content as quickly as possible to fully Creative Commons, while also keeping the licensing for new and existing content as simple as possible, the following licensing terms will apply for changes and for changes made to the content on this wiki:
Changes made to New Content licensed under the Creative Commons License. Changes made to text that is created on or after August 26, 2009 will be made under the Creative Commons License as discussed above.
Changes Made to Existing Content Currently Licensed Under the FDL License. Changes made to text that was created before August 26, 2009 will now be made under a dual license of FDL and Creative Commons. This means that a user can choose to accept these changes under either the FDL or Creative Commons (or both) license(s), and that users can re-license out that content under either the FDL or Creative Commons (or both) license(s). Note that the original content licensed under FDL remains licensed under FDL until the copyright holders consent to the switch to Creative Commons and this wiki site notifies you of that switch. Until the original FDL content switches to Creative Commons, if you choose to license out the change under Creative Commons the original FDL content must still be re-licensed under FDL.
Small code examples embedded or attached to wiki articles must be provided under "Public Domain" terms. "Public Domain" terms means that the small code examples are available for anyone to use for any purpose, without reporting or accounting to anyone. However, note that these small code examples are subject to the Disclaimer used for all wiki content and therefore are provided without any warranty or support of any kind.Leave a Comment
